Norvergence - New Year's Resolutions to Fight Climate Change

As 2019 comes to an end you all must have started thinking about your resolutions for 2020. This year let's be more creative with our resolutions like the members of Norvergence, an NGO working for the betterment of the earth.  The members of this NGO have made a resolution to protect the environment and contribute daily to reduce the harmful effects of greenhouse gas emission and climate change. As it is said that the little efforts count and collectively make a difference. This new year let’s make a resolution on climate change and be more environment-friendly. Your resolution can include joining a climate council, help reduce emissions from transport, avoid wastage of edible items.    Such simple climate change resolutions are easy to follow and will definitely help in protecting the environment and reduce the effects of climate change.

Norvergence - COP25 Conference of Parties 2019 in Madrid

The recent UN Climate Change Conference (COP25) was held from 2 to 13 December in Madrid. The topic of concern for this conference was on climate and energy scenarios which raised the expectations of everyone connected to environment protection especially NGOs like Norvergence. This was the 25th edition of the summit where almost 200 countries attended the conference to scale up their commitments to fight climate change. Norvergence: Bhopal Gas Tragedy is One of The Major World Industrial Accident

Bhopal gas tragedy is counted among the world’s major industrial accidents of the 20th century. The researchers at Norvergence also conducted research from an environmental point of view on the incident “The Bhopal Gas Tragedy” to know more about the causes and effects of the incident on humans and their surroundings. Firstly, this incident is one of the major industrial accidents as more than 3,787 people were reported dead due to the leakage of the toxic methyl isocyanate gas in Bhopal. The incident took place at midnight on 2nd Dec 1984 at Union Carbide Corporation Company in Bhopal. Secondly, the side effects of the gas leakage could be seen even in the following years after the incident like children born after the disaster was also the victims as most babies deliveries after the disaster reported disability in the child.
