Norvergence- Glacial masses in the Himalayas are melting at an "exceptional" rate due to an unnatural weather change, compromising the water supply of millions of individuals in Asia, an examination broadcasted Monday said.
The
review uncovered that Himalayan ice sheets are contracting more quickly than
glacial masses in different regions of the planet.
"Our
discoveries unmistakably show that ice is currently being lost from Himalayan
icy masses at a rate that is somewhere multiple times higher than the normal
rate over past hundreds of years," the study's lead author, Jonathan
Carrivick of the University of Leeds, said in an assertion. "This speed
increase in the pace of misfortune has just arisen inside the most recent

change."
Specialists determined that Himalayan glacial masses have generally lost 40% of their area beyond a few hundred years.
